What installation addresses
A new installation replaces your existing heating and cooling equipment, or adds equipment where it is needed.
The right system depends on your home: its size and layout, your ductwork, how you use each room and your budget. A conversation about those details comes before any recommendation.
When to consider a new system
- Your system is older and needs repairs more often.
- A major part has failed and the repair cost is high for the system’s age.
- Some rooms never get comfortable, no matter the setting.
- You are remodeling or adding living space.
- You want to compare options, such as a heat pump.

Terms you may hear
- Heat pump
- A system that cools in summer and heats in winter by moving heat instead of burning fuel. Heat pumps are common in Arizona homes.
- Split system
- An outdoor unit and an indoor unit connected by refrigerant lines. The most common setup for central air.
- Package unit
- All of the heating and cooling parts in one cabinet, usually on the roof or on the ground beside the home.
- SEER2
- An efficiency rating for cooling. Higher numbers mean less energy for the same cooling. It is one factor among several when comparing systems.
- Load calculation
- A method for estimating how much heating and cooling a home needs, based on size, insulation, windows and which way the home faces.
