Preventative maintenance
Plan your system care. A maintenance visit is a scheduled check of your home heating and cooling system while it is still working. It is a chance to catch small problems before they turn into a breakdown.

What maintenance addresses
Heating and air conditioning systems collect dust, run hard through long Arizona summers and have parts that wear over time. Wear often builds slowly, so a system can seem fine until the day it stops.
Maintenance gives a technician a chance to look at your system before that happens, talk with you about its condition and point out anything worth watching. When you schedule, ask what the visit will cover for your type of system.
When to consider maintenance
- Before summer, when your air conditioner works hardest.
- Before cooler weather, if you heat with a heat pump or furnace.
- It has been a year or more since the last professional visit.
- You moved into a home and do not know the system’s history.
- Your equipment paperwork mentions regular maintenance as a warranty condition.
Helpful to have ready when you contact us
None of this is required. Share what you know and we will ask about the rest.
- Your ZIP code.
- The type of system, if you know it: central air with a furnace, a heat pump, or not sure.
- The approximate age of the system. It is often printed on a label on the outdoor unit.
- When it was last serviced, if you know.
- Anything you have noticed lately, even small changes in sound or comfort.
Terms you may hear
- Condenser
- The outdoor unit of a central air conditioner or heat pump. It releases the heat taken out of your home.
- Air handler
- The indoor unit with the fan that moves air through your ducts. In many Arizona homes it sits in the attic, garage or a closet.
- Air filter
- Catches dust before air reaches the equipment. You will find it at a return vent or at the indoor unit. A clogged filter restricts airflow.
